Local law enforcement and emergency medical personnel were recognized during the April 25th Naples City Council meeting. A letter from Naples Police Chief Nathan Simper was shared, stating: “In recognition of outstanding teamwork, professionalism, and courage displayed during a critical incident on February 28th, 2024, involving a shooting incident with two victims and an armed suspect, the Naples City Police Department, Vernal City Police Department, Uintah County Sheriff’s Office, Adult Parole and Probations, Uintah Basin Communication Center, Gold Cross Ambulance, and Ashley Regional Medical Center employees are hereby awarded the Unit Commendation. On that fateful day, law enforcement officers and emergency medical personnel from multiple agencies responded swiftly to a chaotic and dangerous situation. Their collaborative efforts exemplified the highest standards of public service and heroism, resulting in the successful management of a crisis and the preservation of life.” Each agency was recognized and thanked by Chief Simper.
