The Ute girls softball team traveled to Orem Monday to face the unbeaten at home Timpanogos Timberwolves. The T-Wolves beat the Utes 9-7 in Vernal in early April. The Utes trailed the Wolves 13-6 after five innings, then the Ute bats came alive as the Utes score 5 runs in the sixth inning and another five in the seventh to come back and beat the T-Wolves 16-13. Randee Pace, Kayla Olson and Charlee Gilroy each homered in the Ute victory.
The Utes now await the 4A state tournament pairings. There’s a good chance they will start at home.
