Utah’s first major big game hunt
starts August 19th
with the state general archery buck deer hunt. According to the Division of Wildlife Resources, the state’s deer population was at 375,000 in January, which is down 10,000 deer from January 2016. Still, the amount is well above the state’s 25-year average. “It’s been more than 25 years since we’ve seen this many deer in utah,” shares big game coordinator Justin Shannon. “Plenty of bucks will be available when the hunt
starts August 19th.
