A man was arrested this week after an altercation in Uintah County. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, officers were dispatched on a call on April 3rd that the landlord of apartments near 2100 West 700 South had pulled a gun on a man at the apartments. When officers arrived, 63-year-old Wade K. Horrocks was sitting in the driver’s seat of a white pickup truck. When asked to get out of the vehicle for a search Horrocks told the officers that there was a handgun on the truck’s passenger seat and that he had pointed it at the other man present. The handgun was found loaded and ready to fire. Officer’s investigation concluded that Horrocks had shown up at the man’s apartment and there was an argument and accusations about missing money. During the exchange, Horrocks cocked and pointed the gun at the man. Officers took Horrocks into custody for Aggravated Assault due to the threat with the firearm and Disorderly Conduct due to engaging in threatening behavior at an apartment complex. It was also alleged that Horrocks was harassing others and threatened to take out law enforcement. Horrocks was charged with the Felony Aggravated Assault charge as well as Felony Possession of a Dangerous Weapon by a Restricted Person. Horrocks is currently on probation for charges he entered Guilty pleas to last fall for an instance of Impaired Driving in May of 2022 in which he was found with methamphetamine and a firearm.
