Social media is abuzz with locals excited about the solar eclipse coming up next week. Unfortunately, preparing for the eclipse may not be as simple as anticipated. NASA has warned that millions of Americans have purchased counterfeit solar eclipse glasses that have been sold by disreputable vendors getting rich on this rare event. While most people understand the need to buy glasses that are verified by an accredited testing laboratory it can be difficult to tell which are real and which are fake as the counterfeits often have fake labels claiming to meet the standard.
