Vernal City Council approved a land purchase on the west side of south Vernal Avenue last week that will provide additional parking downtown. Vernal City Manager Quinn Bennion shares that the property is at 136 South Vernal Avenue and is “L” shaped with access to 100 South and Vernal Avenue. “The lot has been vacant for decades,” shares Bennion. “The purchase advances one of the highest priorities of the Downtown Plan: to introduce more safe and convenient public parking. The parking is located to support businesses, events, customers and visitors in downtown Vernal.” The project will be designed this summer and constructed in 2025, adding an estimated 60 parking stalls.
