Wyoming Game and Fish is considering approving a type of unlimited elk tag as elk herds continue to grow. Cowboy State Daily reports that the elk tag would function the same way a Type 8 whitetail deer tag works in Wyoming and whether hunters can fill those tags in many instances will depend upon getting access to private land. If the special license is approved then hunters will be able to buy as many as they like and shoot as many elk as they can as long as rules are followed. A major key ingredient is whether or not landowners participate and allow hunters onto their property. The next meeting for the Wyoming Game and Fish Commission is on April 16th and they have final say whether these new elk tags will be issued or not.
