The Uintah Basin Youth Chamber Orchestra spring concert is coming up and it will be its first under the direction of the organization’s new creative director Clayton Johnson. “When I was asked to direct the Uintah Basin Youth Chamber Orchestra and help revive the organization, I was thrilled!” shares Johnson. “The orchestra is composed of the most hard working and dedicated young string musicians in the Basin, and I am grateful that I have the opportunity to work with these amazing students.” The Uintah Basin Youth Chamber Orchestra began in 2016. The pandemic of course proved challenging for the organization but it is back and ready to keep growing. “This youth orchestra fulfills the need of a higher level ensemble to challenge and grow the performance and ensemble skills of these performers,” explains Johnson. “The reason why I do this is to provide these young, bright musicians these opportunities. Music is a huge part of my life and I feel privileged to share my knowledge and love of music with these amazing students. I am excited to keep working with them in the future!” The Uintah Basin Youth Chamber Orchestra concert will be held at Uintah High School auditorium on Thursday, March 28th at 7:00 pm. Bring the entire family and enjoy an evening full of music!
