A man attempting to pick up a child from daycare ended up arrested and in Uintah County Jail on Friday for drug possession. According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause, police were dispatched to a daycare on north Vernal Avenue on a report of a civil dispute. Officers were advised that 32-year-old Kody Gene Kimbel was at the facility attempting to pick up his child but the daycare had been advised by the mother not to release the child due to suspected drug use. Kimbel had 2 warrants out for his arrest out of Roosevelt 8th District Court so when officers arrived they proceeded to arrest Kimbel on the warrants. As he was secured in handcuffs and searched, tin foil was found in his pants pocket. When asked what was inside, Kimbel told the officer that it was Fentanyl. He also reported other drug paraphernalia in his sock. Kimbel was booked on the warrants as well as new drug charges, including felony Possession of a Controlled Substance.
