Authorities are looking for the public’s help in a case of vandalism in Uintah County. Uintah County Sheriff’s Office shared on Tuesday that the Vernal Field Office-Bureau of Land Management is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying anyone involved in vandalism to the McCoy Flats Trailhead. McCoy Flats is a mountain bike trail system west of Vernal that includes 35 miles of interconnecting trails for riders. “On March 7th, it was discovered that vandals removed the main trailhead sign from the area causing significant damage to the sign and surrounding area,” shares the Sheriff’s Office. “BLM law enforcement is asking the public to report any information they may have identifying the person(s) responsible for this incident.” Call BLM law enforcement at 1-800-722-3998 or 435-781-4504.
