A woman has been arrested and charged after allegedly stealing a vehicle and large sum of cash from the Uintah County man she had been staying with. The Affidavit of Probable Cause states that police responded to a report of a vehicle theft on February 11th in which the owner stated that when he woke up he found that Andrea Jorgensen, who had stayed with him for the past 2 days, had stolen his vehicle. He had security camera footage to show the officers of the woman taking his Chevy Malibu which he reported had around $500 dollars in cash, tools, and his phone inside. The man contacted officers after they left to let them know that he checked and was also missing another $1,200 dollars. The vehicle was listed as stolen and was soon reported in Wasatch County with the Sheriff’s Office there stopping the vehicle and finding Jorgensen as the sole occupant with over $1000 dollars in cash on her. 28-year-old Andrea Jorgensen was arrested and booked into Wasatch County Jail. She is charged with Felony Theft of a Motor Vehicle and Theft of Property Exceeding $1,500 dollars.
