A new plan has been created for Ashley National Forest aimed at helping manage the Forest into the future. The Forest Service has announced open houses taking place as an opportunity for the public to learn more about the new plan and have questions answered. The announcement states the following: “Come join us at one of our open houses for an opportunity to speak with our specialists to learn more about how the new Forest Plan will help us manage the Ashley National Forest into the future. The land management plan is the result of extensive collaboration and includes perspectives and language developed by a broad range of forest users and interested parties.” The first meeting will be held on February 21st from 4:30 to 6:30pm at the Vernal City Hall. The second meeting will be held on February 22nd from 4:30 to 6:30pm at the Duchesne County Events Center. A copy of the new plan can be found on fs.usda.gov.
