Real life superheroes filled the Uintah Conference Center over the weekend for training and practicing skills at the Uintah Basin Emergency Care Conference. The conference invites emergency response and care providers from Daggett, Duchesne, and Uintah Counties as well as the Ute Tribe and beyond. “This year we had a lot of hands-on training including vehicle extrication, drones, landing zone training, airway emergencies, and a tour of dispatch,” shares Uintah County Emergency Manager Heidi Lundberg. The conference is also the time for the annual UBECC challenges to see who takes home the traveling trophies in several categories. The Kevin Orr Memorial award was also given naming Sgt. Josh Hill as this year’s recipient. As always, it was a successful event. The save the date announcement has already been given for next year’s conference being planned for February 7th and 8th, 2025.
