Rangely is among a small group of first recipients of the Colorado voter approved Proposition 123 Land Banking Funds which aims to help communities acquire land for affordable housing. The Town of Rangely was awarded $240,000 dollars. $25 million dollars were dispersed between the 16 recipients announced last week. Those 16 recipients are anticipating to create an estimated 1,380 housing units. These are to include housing for at-risk youth and those transitioning out of homelessness. Rangely’s funds are earmarked for the Sagewood West Affordable Housing project.
