The search for a missing Moffat County man continues but officials have announced that the man’s missing UTV has been found. 70-year-old Thomas Ray Velasquez was officially entered into the National Crime Information Center as a missing person this month and tips from the public are encouraged. The Moffat County Sheriff’s Office shares that Velasquez was last seen on December 18th and he was reported missing on January 6th. “Efforts to locate Mr. Velasquez have been ongoing since he was reported missing,” shares the Sheriff’s Office. “An extensive ground and aerial search has been conducted in the area where he was last believed to have been located (his residence on Moffat County Road 53).” During the search, the 2020 Polaris Ranger UTV was recovered but unfortunately efforts to locate Mr. Velasquez were unsuccessful. Velasquez is a 5’9″ white male, weighing approximately 164 lbs. He has brown hair, which may show signs of graying, and brown eyes.
