A man was arrested this month in Uintah County after a list of crimes from recent months caught up to him. 28-year-old William Ruel Edrington was arrested on the night of January 10th and the following felony charges were filed after his arrest. According to court documents, Edrington has been charged with multiple counts of felony Unlawful Possession of a Financial Card after using cards from a wallet that was stolen in November from a truck in Green River. He is charged with felony Theft/ Deception for events that occurred on December 22nd at the Vernal Walmart in which he gathered items from around the store and returned them at customer service and received a gift card for the amount of the fraudulent return. Edrington is charged with felony Theft/Deception and felony Retail Theft for events that occurred on December 29th at the Vernal Walmart involving more attempts to return items he gathered from around the store. On January 10th, the night of his arrest, he was found to be driving on a revoked license, without a required interlock system, and in possession of fentanyl, methamphetamine, and a handgun and other weapons which are not allowed as he is a convicted felon. Edrington’s theft related charges were enhanced to felonies due to him having a prior felony burglary conviction within 10 years.
