Out of the Darkness Walk for Suicide Prevention

by | Sep 20, 2019 | News | 0 comments

Suicide affects so many live. In fact, the World Health Organization estimates that approximately one million people die each year from suicide. These people who take their lives don’t want to die, they just want to stop hurting. Sadly, a suicidal person will usually not ask for help so suicide prevention starts with recognizing the warning signs and taking them seriously. Come support suicide awareness and preventation by taking part of Vernal’s ‘Out of the Darkness’ Walk hosted by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention-Utah. The walk will take place on Saturday, September 21st at the Colton Pavillion. Check-in/registration starts at 9am with the walk starting at 10am and will end at 1pm. By bringing this difficult subject out of the darkness and into the forefront of the public’s mind, there is hope to help individuals find the light. Help the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention-Utah’s bold goal to reduce suicide by 20% by 2025.
