Final Day To File For Public Office Is TODAY

Today is the final day to file for public office in Utah so if you’re interested in adding your name to the list of candidates for local, state, or federal office it’s time to put a skip in your step. As of Sunday, the information on local counties websites showed Uintah County offices are unchallenged with Danette Brooks for Assessor, Willis LeFevre for Commissioner, incumbent Brenda McDonald for Recorder, incumbent Brock J. Slaugh for Surveyor, and incumbent Wendi Long for Treasurer. For Uintah School District #4, the only candidate listed is incumbent board member Tawnya McKee and in District #5 is incumbent board member Todd K. Massey and Lance W. Taylor. Offices up for election in Duchesne County are also unchallenged with Vaughan Lichfield for Commissioner, D. Ryan Allred for Surveyor, incumbent Traci K. Herrera for Assessor, incumbent Shelley Brennan for Recorder, and incumbent Stephen Potter for Treasurer. For Duchesne County School District #4, the only candidate listed is Brandon Edmund Bench. The deadline to join the race and file for public office is today, January 8th, 2024. Another deadline to be aware of is that the deadline to change your party affiliation for the 2024 election year is tomorrow, January 9th.
