Roosevelt’s Mayor has announced a switch in political races he’s pursuing. Best known locally as JR Bird, Rod Bird Jr. officially filed for Utah’s 3rd Congressional House District race rather than his original plan to run for the Senate seat that Romney is vacating. Bird gave an interview with Evans Family Media about his announcement and shared that he was encouraged to consider the switch when District #3 representative John Curtis announced that he was entering the Senate race. Bird said that as he and his wife considered the District #3 seat, they felt strongly that he would be a great fit to take the baton and continue what Curtis has started, especially fighting for rural Utah and restoring appropriate energy policies.
