It appears that today is the day the Uintah County Commission will make a decision on their proposed property tax increase, a topic that has garnered massive public response. On November 7th, citizens filled the ballroom of the Uintah Conference Center with the majority of shared feedback given in opposition to Uintah County’s proposal to increase property tax revenue by over $5.6 million dollars. Since that meeting, Uintah County has continued their budget meetings and department hearings. The Uintah County Commission is scheduled to meet today at 3pm with three budget related items on their agenda: Resolution R1 2024 Budget Adoption, Resolution R2 Tax Increase, and Public Hearing for Resolution R3 2023 Budget Opener. The meeting is open to the public and will be held in the Commission Chambers at 147 East Main in Vernal. It will also be streamed live on the Uintah County YouTube channel.
