Technically the season to monitor winter ozone is upon us. The folks at the Bingham Research Center shared on Friday that what little snow existed across the Basin is now gone and there is little chance of new snow into early this week. “Without snow, we won’t have winter ozone,” shared Friday’s announcement. “The models are showing a possibility of some snow on the weekend before Christmas.” Those signed up for winter ozone email alerts will hear from the Bingham Research Center if and when the likelihood of winter ozone forming increases. The alerts are issued at least every 2 weeks from December 1st through March 15th. To sign up for Winter Ozone alerts, visit https://www.usu.edu/binghamresearch/.
