TriCounty Health has a powerful way to build better health in the new year with a program all about diabetes prevention. The National Diabetes Prevention Program is fully recognized by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and has been running in the Uintah Basin since 2019. So far, TriCounty Health has helped 10 groups for a total of 102 participants complete the program with members averaging 2.2 percent weight loss and adding over 200 minutes of weekly physical activity to their lifestyles. Health Educator Daniel Jackson visited the Evans Family Media studios this week to invite the community to get signed up for the new group that will start on January 11th. The guided support in a group atmosphere can be a turning point to help prevent or delay Type 2 Diabetes.
