Plans have been announced for the 6th annual Duchesne City Christmas Festival. The event will take place this year on December 2nd with the theme being ‘Home For Christmas’. This special event is thanks to the dedication of a Duchesne City resident who adores the Christmas holiday. Motivated by a desire for more community Christmas activities, Robin Calkins got permission 6 years ago from Duchesne City to decorate the park and have an event with Santa and a light parade. Since then, the Duchesne City Christmas Festival has grown into an annual family tradition that involves many community members. This year’s event will start at the Duchesne Library where USU will be providing “Make and Take” meals from 1 to 3pm. The party will then move to Wallace Park to visit Santa, get photos, create a Santa letter and other activities, music and raffles. The Duchesne City Tree Lighting will happen at 5:00 pm, followed by the Light Parade. The night will finish with ‘Dinner and Show’ at Duchesne Elementary which will include a Gingerbread House display and prizes. Plan to join the festivities on Saturday, December 2nd in Duchesne City.
