A Daggett County man was arrested this week for a rape reported to the Daggett County Sheriff’s Office. The officers received the report on the same day that the alleged crime was committed but the accused had left the area before officers could make contact. On November 6th, officers were informed that the accused was back at the Dutch John Resort and they were able to locate and talk to him. Following that encounter, 27-year-old Tristin Cole Caldwell was arrested for the offense of 1st Degree Felony Rape. He was booked into the Uintah County Jail and a No Contact Order was complete. The court ordered that he be held without bail because Caldwell had previously fled the state on other charges and had to be extradited from Las Vegas in that case. His initial appearance is scheduled in 8th District Court on November 13th.
