Porch piracy spikes this time of year as online purchases increase leading up to the holidays. Doorbell cameras sometimes catch the porch pirate in the act which is the case in a Roosevelt incident that Roosevelt City Police Department is requesting the public’s help with. Roosevelt PD shares a video of the incident on their Facebook page asking for the public’s help in identifying the individual. One of the best ways to avoid becoming a victim of porch piracy is to track your packages and be prepared to retrieve the package as soon as possible after delivery. If you are unable to do so, have a neighbor, friend, or family member watch for the package. Having it out of sight reduces availability for porch pirates looking for an easy opportunity for free stuff.
