Local lawyer Dennis L. Judd has been formally charged after a 7 month investigation by the Utah Attorney General’s Office. On Wednesday, October 11th, the State of Utah Attorney General charged Judd with 2 counts of Voyeurism by Concealed Electronic Equipment and 1 count of Stalking. According to the Special Agent for the Attorney General’s Office, on March 15th, 2023, Uintah County Detectives responded to Dennis Judd’s law firm on South Vernal Ave on a reported sexual exploitation of a minor and voyeurism. Detectives spoke with employees of the law office who had discovered numerous printed pornographic photos and two SD cards in an unlabeled file folder which had been left in a drawer with other office personnel files. Among the digital files was a video of Judd putting up a camera inside the  employee bathroom ceiling vent. Additional videos on the SD card showed recordings of Judd’s various female employees using the bathroom. When employees discovered the recordings, they attempted to look in the same  location where the first video showed Judd installing the camera but found that the camera had already been removed. An additional manila folder labeled with the name of an employee was also found. It contained photos of the employee and copies of text messages, among other documents and items. The documents went into great detail about conversations Judd had with the employee, his feelings of attraction toward her, and several photos from her Facebook and other social media sources. When the employee was informed of the findings, investigators noted she was clearly emotionally distressed. The Special Agent also noted evidence of Amazon orders Judd made that included several small spy cameras beginning February 2021 and continuing through that year. After Judd’s law office in Vernal was served the search warrant in March, Judd stepped down from several positions serving as attorney to local entities, including Vernal City and Naples City. The charges of Voyeurism and Stalking were filed in 8th District Court on Wednesday. All judges in the 8th District Court recused themselves from the case which will be re-assigned to a judge outside of the 8th District.
