The Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office has released new details on a tragic crime reported last week. In their updated press release, the Sheriff’s Office shares that on September 21st, 2023, deputies responded to the Arcadia area of Duchesne County in response to Brent Gilbert calling dispatch and stating that he had killed his wife. When deputies arrived on scene they found the deceased body of his wife Stacey Gilbert. Brent Gilbert was taken into custody and transported to the Uintah Basin Medical Center for treatment of a self-inflicted injury to his wrist. He was then transported to the Duchesne County Jail and booked for Aggravated Murder.
