The Uintah Transportation Special Service District board met on Wednesday, November 8th, and options for the Executive Director position were explored as the board considers the future. Board Chairman Dan Dilsaver introduced the idea of seeking out an interim Executive Director through an RFP process. Dilsaver also stated that one option could be to contact Executive Directors in the other special service districts to see if any would be able to contract with the transportation district for the period of interim. Board member Kevin Van Tassell proposed negotiating with current Executive Director Adam Massey, who remains on paid administrative leave, about “issues that we have concerns about.” Van Tassell asked district legal counsel Gayle McKeachnie if he could work to see if there is any way an agreement could be formed that would be acceptable to everyone on the board for the possibility of working with Massey. Dilsaver agreed and also suggested moving forward simultaneously on the RFP process in case the negotiating is not successful so the board can be moving forward on something one way or another. It was agreed that Mr. McKeachnie could both work on possible negotiations for the board to consider as well as prepare a draft of an RFP to circulate to the board for consideration at the next board meeting.
