Bingham Research Center Hosts Open House

Government officials as well as other stakeholders attended a special open house last week hosted by the Bingham Research Center at the USU Uintah Basin campus. The Center investigates the causes of the Basin’s unique wintertime air quality issues and the data is used by local oil and gas companies and regulatory agencies in working to improve air quality in the region. Bingham Research Center Director Dr. Seth Lyman says the open house was a great opportunity to show attendees the inner workings of the facility, including how they can build their own measurement and analysis equipment. “This open house was a great time to catch up and strengthen existing partnerships,” shares Dr. Lyman. “Many of the attendees expressed their gratitude to USU for hosting this event and shared how helpful the Bingham Center has been to the community and the state.” The Center is funded primarily by the Utah Legislature and Uintah County Special Service District 1.
