Have you heard of the J. Willard Marriott Digital Library? The Uintah County Library
wants the public to know about this amazing resource. The J. Willard Marriott Digital
Library is a vast collection of digital materials, including photographs, books,
newspapers, maps, and much more. It is an excellent resource for anyone interested in
Utah history, including the Uintah Basin area. If you want to browse their collection of
photos, visit the J. Willard Marriott Digital Library website and select the “Collections”
tab. You can then browse the various collections or search to find specific images. You
can also search by location such as Vernal, Duchesne, or Roosevelt, or by subject, such as
agriculture, mining, or transportation. One specific collection of interest is the Uintah
Basin Photograph Collection. It features over 1,500 photographs from the Uintah Basin
from the early 1900’s to the 1960’s. Once you find a photograph that you’re interested in,
you can view it online, download it, or order a print copy. The J. Willard Marriott Digital
Library is an invaluable resource for anyone interested in exploring the rich history of the
Uintah Basin and the state of Utah as a whole.
