Uintah County, Daggett County, and Duchesne County are working to update the Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan and they are seeking input from the public. “The purpose of hazard mitigation planning is to identify policies and actions that can be implemented over the long term to reduce risk and future losses,” shares the announcement from Uintah County Emergency Management. “Mitigation forms the foundation for a community’s long-term strategy to reduce disaster losses and break the cycle of disaster damage, reconstruction, and repeated damage.” To offer input about disaster preparedness and mitigation, link to the survey on the Uintah County Emergency Management Facebook page or through the link with this news story on BasinNow.com.
