The Ute boys football team kicked off the season last Friday night hosting the tough Duchesne Eagles. The Utes took the early lead on a Dauthan Flores Field Goal, but the Eagles responded in the second quarter with two touchdowns. At the close of the first half the Utes tightened the score with a 28 yard pass from J D Pickup to Treycen Jarman.
With no score in the third quarter, the Utes regained the lead on a 4-yard Dace O’Bagy run and J D Pickup ran in the 2-point conversion. The Eagles then ran in a touchdown with five minutes left to beat the Utes 20-18 in a hard fought match.
The Utes head to Tooele this Friday.
