Many generous hearts came together to help local charities and families in need during the Trees For Charity event held at the Uintah Conference Center. The auction gala, held on November 27th, was record breaking even before the bidding started up with 450 tickets sold for the dinner, a record high. At the end of the evening the total auctioned for the 40 trees came to $194,000 dollars with several trees having been bought and then put back in to be auctioned again and again. The tree to benefit Angie Earl, a mother of four diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer this year, took in the most donations with 7 generous bidders giving a combined donation total of $31,100 dollars. On the night of the event, Trees For Charity Chairman Josh Harbison estimated that with the silent auction, tree toppers, and other donations combined that the grant total would reach $200,000 dollars. That total not only reached $200,000 but came to just over $260,000 dollars, shares Harbison who said he is so excited to see the community rally together and help those in need.
