The Buckskin Hills Recreation Complex in Uintah County has had a very busy summer
with a variety of events drawing people to the area. The Uintah County Commission
enjoyed a report of events during their Commission meeting last week and expressed
their gratitude for the staff and volunteers making the complex a draw for enthusiasts
from around the country. Last weekend the Motocross facility hosted the Moto United
racing event. They had 440 riders and even more spectators, drawing a total of over 880
people to Buckskin Hills. This was a significant increase from last year. The Precision
Rifle Series competition was also held last weekend at the Buckskin Hills Shooting
Range. The event had 54 competitors and drew people from 10 states and an earlier event
this year drew from 16 states. Other professional events and growth are anticipated as the
Buckskin Hills Shooting Range is getting positive attention. Finally, a presentation was
made on Diamond Mountain Speedway and the phenomenal success with events this
year. Over 500 people were in the stands each night during last weekend’s events. Fun
family friendly activities like the candy dash during intermission are attracting more and
more families as spectators. People are traveling from other states just to come watch.
