Things are gearing up for another spooky year of doing good with the Hotel Vernal Haunt in its 6th season. The 2023 charity event will benefit the following local non-profit charities: Project Alley which supports addiction recovery; Quintien’s Warriors which assists families with the cost of headstones in instances of child and infant loss; KLIC which assists local community members with cancer related costs; and HashtagSOS which focuses on success over suicide and substance abuse. Hotel Vernal Haunt has been on an upward trajectory from the start. 2022 was the 5th year for the charity Haunt and it was a record breaking year hosting 6785 guests through the Fear Haunt – the highest amount ever! It also had the highest grand total raised with a total of $72,000 dollars. The total amount raised for local charities over the first 5 years of the event is $278,000 dollars. For those interested in possibly volunteering this year there will be a Q&A meeting on August 8th and 9th at UBTech from 6 to 8 pm.
