Gold Cross Ambulance has received national CAAS accreditation making Gold Cross the only ambulance provider in the state to achieve that national distinction. CAAS is the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services and the accreditation achieved by Gold Cross puts them in the top 1 percent of ambulance services in the country. Local Gold Cross Director Scott Adams shared the following about this “gold standard” among emergency medical service providers. “These standards often exceed those established by state or local regulation,” explains Adams. “The CAAS standards are designed to increase operational efficiency and clinical quality, while decreasing risk and liability to the organization. The process includes a comprehensive self-assessment and an independent external review of the EMS organization. This independent process provides verification to your Board of Directors, city council, medical community and others that quality care is provided to the community. I am proud to be part of an organization that strives to be among the best in the prehospital arena,” he continues. “The local EMT’s and Paramedics in Vernal work hard and are committed to excellent patient care.”
