The Pioneer Holiday offers another opportunity to celebrate with fireworks in the state of Utah. The 2023 legal discharge dates are July 22nd through July 25th from 11am to 11pm with July 24th hours extended to midnight. The Uintah Fire District encourages all to make safety the top priority this holiday and suggests kicking back and letting the experts handle the fireworks show. However, if you choose to discharge fireworks, here’s some tips from the District: Never use fireworks while impaired by drugs or alcohol. Anyone using fireworks or standing nearby should wear protective eyewear. Never hold lit fireworks in your hands. Never light them indoors. Never point or throw fireworks at another person. Never ignite devices in a container. Do not try to re-light or handle malfunctioning fireworks. Soak both spent and unused fireworks in water for a few hours before discarding. Keep a bucket of water nearby to fully extinguish fireworks that don’t go off or in case of fire. And finally, never use illegal fireworks.
