The BLM Green River District is holding a meeting next month in Vernal to discuss issues related to public lands management. “These meetings provide a forum for the [Resource Advisory Council] to provide input and recommendations to the BLM on a variety of issues, including land use planning, resource management, and conservation,” shares the BLM announcement. “The BLM takes these recommendations into consideration when making decisions about the management of public lands in Utah. Advisory committees provide advice and recommendations to the Secretary of the Interior on public land resource and management issues…[and] serve as a bridge between BLM and the communities it serves.” The meeting will take place August 15th at the BLM Green River District Office in Vernal from 8am to 4:30pm. The public is invited to address the Council at 1pm. On August 16th, the public is invited to a field tour to the John Jarvie Historic Ranch in Browns Park to gain valuable information regarding district and statewide planning efforts.
