by | Jul 3, 2023 | News | 0 comments

Recently, Uintah Basin Healthcare announced that their Vernal Campus Emergency Department is now a certified Stroke Receiving Facility. What this means is that the campus has the required infrastructure, staff, and equipment to stabilize and provide rapid, optimal, and efficient care to acute stroke patients. They are asking the public to be aware of the warning signs of a stroke and to act fast when you see it. The phrase BE FAST helps you to know the warning signs. B stands for loss of Balance, headaches and dizziness. E is for Eyes as a stroke causes blurred vision. F is for the Face, as one side of the face will start drooping. A is for Arms as both arms and legs become weak. S is for Speech, since speech difficulty is very common. T is for Time and means that it is time to call for an ambulance immediately.
