The Department of Workforce Services has provided updated unemployment data. May’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for the state of Utah is estimated at 2.3 percent. Approximately 42,000 Utahns are unemployed. Unemployment in Daggett County lowered from 4 to 3.8 percent from the month before. Duchesne County stayed the same at 2.7 percent and Uintah County stayed at 3 percent unemployment. Utah’s April unemployment rate also remained the same from the month before while the May national unemployment rate moved up three-tenths of a percentage point to 3.7 percent.
