Spring Creek Fire In Western Colorado

Ashes were reported falling on Rifle and New Castle in Colorado this weekend all while the cause remains unknown on a wildfire called in on Saturday afternoon west of Rifle near Parachute. The Spring Creek Fire grew quickly from 2 to 200 acres, requiring crews on the ground as well as air support, including an extra large airtanker. On Sunday, the wildfire was reported with zero percent containment. The total personnel listed on the incident is 108. No structures are threatened and the fire remains under investigation. Another small wildfire was also reported in that area on Sunday afternoon. The Hubbard Fire was last listed at 9 acres and the cause was also undetermined.
