Uintah County Library is a community hub and one where youth can fill their summer with worthwhile fun and learning. Tomorrow is the kickoff for the Summer Reading Program which is the first of weekly activities that will happen every Wednesday from 10am to noon through August 2nd. This is when fun activities are planned and you can bring your reading log for prizes and free books. It was just a week ago that the Vernal Rotary Club delivered nearly $1,200 dollars in books to the library specifically for the Summer Reading Program in order to promote literacy and reward our local youth for reading this summer. There will also be one final bonus for those that attend tomorrow’s activity. Eyecare 4 Kids will be on hand and providing free kids vision screenings. Eyecare 4 Kids is a global nonprofit organization whose goal is to find and help visually impaired children. It has served over 400,000 children around the world with professional eye exams and new prescription glasses at little to no cost for over 20 years.
