For those waiting to see progress on the T-Rex makeover on Highway 40 near 800 West in Vernal, the wait is finally over! The painters started prep work on Monday after an extended waiting game to be sure that winter was officially done. Jordan Clark with Ninety1 Designs has been eager to get going on this iconic project but said they had to wait for the weather to stay above 40 degrees at night to go for it. The effort to save T-Rex started about a year ago when a grassroots effort to raise $30,000 dollars towards the iconic dinosaur’s restoration was exceeded within 19 days. Repairs to save the T-Rex’s structure took place in 2022 along with landscaping and safety improvements to T-Rex’s island. The project was put on hold during the winter and finally the special paint job is now getting underway.
