Snow arrived just in time to carry on the outdoor annual traditions of Roosevelt’s Winterfest. Coming up this weekend, this year’s event will thankfully have the snow for the cross country skiing and sledding that are among the community’s favorite activities. Cross country skiing was actually the inspiration for the annual event. Avid skier and local dentist Dr. Doug Ogden wanted to see a winter activity in Roosevelt that got more people outside and newcomers trying cross country skiing. Since that first year, other events have been added to Roosevelt Winterfest. This year’s roster includes art lessons at UBMC, discounts on bowling at Ute Lanes and the Roosevelt Aquatic Center, dancing at the Crossroads Senior Center, and of course cross country skiing and sledding, among other fun activities. For a schedule of events, visit the Roosevelt Winterfest Facebook page. Activities will be held January 25th through the 27th.
