Funding awarded through the Blue Ribbon Fisheries program will be used for improvements to many waterbodies in the state, including within the Uintah Basin. The program recently allocated over $450,000 dollars to be used toward 17 projects. One of the projects will help stabilize and decrease erosion on the bank of the Duchesne River near Hanna. The fish habitat in the river is affected by the sediment being deposited into the river by the eroding bank. About $25,000 dollars will be used on this project. Another project announced is to add new restroom facilities at the Strawberry Reservoir Chicken Creek East parking area. About $42,000 dollars will be used on this project.
