If you see smoke in the Stewart Lake area near Jensen there’s most likely no need to panic. The Utah Division of Forestry Fire and State Lands, with help from the Uintah Fire Suppression District, is planning to assist the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources in a prescribed fire burn at the Stewart Lake Waterfowl Management Area today if weather permits. Operations are planned to begin mid-morning and should conclude the same day. Light smoke may be present in the following days as fire crews will continue to monitor the situation.
