Several exciting things happened at the high school track and field Eastern Utah Championships in Price over the weekend. The Uintah High Girls Track Team took first place for the first time since 2013 and the Boys Track Team placed 2nd. There were first place finishes by Kora Cook, Lindsey Stewart, Chloe Glines, Chase Harding, Andrew Remington, and the Girls and Boys 4 by 100 Relay teams. One of those 1st place finishers had the added excitement of also breaking a 36-year Uintah High Record in her event. Chloe Glines recorded a javelin throw of 120 feet 11 inches. This breaks Julie Zeilstra’s javelin throw in 1987 of 118 feet 3 inches. Glines is currently ranked Number 1 in javelin in 5A competition in the state of Utah. Congratulations Chloe and congratulations to the entire track team on their successful weekend!
