Talented youth from across the state will be coming to Vernal next week to put their overall hunting skills to the test. The Division of Wildlife Resources is hosting the 2023 State Youth Hunter Education Challenge at the Uintah Conference Center and there is plenty of excitement building in anticipation. The event is a 2-day competition where youth compete in categories such as rifle, shotgun, muzzleloader, archery, safety trail, wildlife identification, and orienteering. The fun isn’t only for the youth. There will also be an Adult Division for those age 19 and older that would like to compete as well. The event is taking place May 5th and 6th and the winners go on to compete at nationals. Questions can be directed to Levi Bassett at 385-260-5850.
