Part of the downtown Vernal revitalization project is added parking as well as other improvements. The Cobblerock Park block, located East of Vernal Avenue and South of Main Street, is among the areas where added parking is proposed and one of the tools moving forward is designating that block as a Downtown Parking Assessment Area. The public notice states that this is for the purpose of providing additional downtown parking for the public and the businesses on that block and for landscaping and improvements. The improvements proposed include installing storm drainage as needed, improving existing parking to meet ADA requirements, installing landscaping, relocating and installing lighting, re-grading and asphalting the parking area, installing water and sewer utility upgrades, and for pedestrian walkways. The community is invited to offer comments on the designation to the City Council and Mayor on May 17th at the City Council Chambers at 7pm.
