A traffic stop led to two suspects being booked into the Duchesne County Jail. About 4:30am on Tuesday, April 18th, Deputy C.J. Cox initiated a traffic stop of  a vehicle that was driving eastbound on US Highway 40. He stopped the vehicle due to an unilluminated plate light. During the stop, Deputy Cox found probable cause to search the vehicle. It was during this search that he found a stack of mail that “was addressed to various residents of Duchesne County” with some of it having “identifying information from the State of Utah.” There was also 116 grams of methamphetamines with distribution equipment and 2 large knives found. The suspects, one male and one female, will be facing charges ranging from Class B Misdemeanors to 1st Degree felonies. The Sheriff’s Office asks all to “remember to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity around your neighborhood.” You can contact the Sheriff’s Office at 435-738-2015 or if you would like to remain anonymous, the tip line is available at 435-738-0196.
